Mahmoud Abdallah is the Founding Partner and Chairman of MMA Capital Holdings LLC, formerly MMA Global Investments LLC, the family office investment company founded in 2012. Mahmoud has over 30 years of global experience in insurance, asset management and risk management. Mahmoud is a Senior Advisor to several financial institutions and nonprofit organizations. Mr. Abdallah spearheaded insurance reforms in Egypt. While serving as Chairman and CEO of Misr Insurance Holding Company, he implemented one of the largest mergers and restructurings of the insurance industry in the Middle East.
As an Executive Vice President and President of International Operations for American Re, Mahmoud played a key role in the management buyout of the company by KKR and the subsequent merger with Munich RE, considered one of the most lucrative M&A deals in history. Mahmoud has served as Chairman of the International Insurance Council in the U.S. He is a member of several public and private boards in the U.S. and abroad, including the Metropolitan Opera, the New Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), and the Magdi Yacoub Global Heart Foundation. Mahmoud is also the founder and donor of the Mahmoud M. Abdallah Foundation supporting organizations and causes in Education, Healthcare and the Arts.
